One service, three packages

Every package is our SEO service with the scope fixed

Our SEO service covers technical fixes, on-page work, content, Google Business Profile and monthly reporting. These packages put a fixed scope and a fixed price on that work, so you know what you are buying before you start.

What changes from one Australian city to the next is not the service, it is the strategy: which suburbs and service areas to target, which searches are realistic, and which pages to build. The city guides below set that out for ten markets.

If you have not worked with us before, our process page explains the first 90 days, and the free audit tool shows where your site stands today. We do not guarantee rankings: Google decides them, and anyone who promises otherwise is selling something.

Ten Australian cities

How local search works in each city

Australia is not one search market. Sydney is three cities in one, Perth is more than 2,000 km from the next capital, and the Gold Coast sits on a state border. Pick your city for the local picture, or read them all. Each guide covers the local market, realistic searches, sectors, areas, seasonal peaks and a 90-day plan.

New South Wales

SEO in Sydney

One city name, three different markets

  • 5.64 millionpeople live in Greater Sydney (ABS estimate, 30 June 2025)
  • 3 citiesis how state planners divide Greater Sydney: Eastern Harbour, Central River and Western Parkland
  • Western Sydney Airportwas scheduled to open to passengers on 25 October 2026, and is reshaping demand across the Western Parkland City
  • 4.5 to 5.5 his the time difference between Sydney and our team in India, depending on daylight saving

Greater Sydney is planned around three centres: the Eastern Harbour City around the CBD, the Central River City around Parramatta, and the Western Parkland City around the new airport and Aerotropolis. For search, that matters more than the size of the population. A person in Penrith looking for an electrician is very unlikely to call one based in Manly, and Google knows it. Local results lean heavily on distance, so a business is shown to the people near it first.

Read the full Sydney guide: searches, sectors, areas, calendar and 90-day plan

That is why the broad term "Sydney" is the hardest place to start. Aggregators, franchises and long-established agencies hold most of it, and each of them is chasing the same wide area. A smaller business gets further by picking the corridors it truly serves and building a page, a Google Business Profile and a set of reviews that clearly belong to those places.

The next few years add a twist. Western Sydney International Airport was scheduled to open to passengers on 25 October 2026, and the Western Parkland City around it will see new housing, logistics and trade demand. Businesses that build their local presence in those suburbs early will have less competition than those who wait.

Which Sydney searches are realistic

Our read of how contested each kind of search tends to be, not measured volumes. The audit measures the real figures.

accountant sydney

Dominated by large firms, directories and comparison sites. A hard place for a new entrant to start.

accountant parramatta

Realistic. The Central River City has a large business community and fewer firms investing in search.

tax accountant near me

Decided by the Google Business Profile: categories, reviews and distance to the searcher.

accountant for small business north shore

A regional modifier with a clear audience. Often the best first target.

best accountant sydney

Review sites and "top 10" lists. Not a realistic service-page target; earn reviews instead.

How local search differs by sector in Sydney

Professional services

Accountants, lawyers and advisers cluster around the CBD, North Sydney and Parramatta. Searchers compare several firms, so service pages, clear author credentials and real client reviews decide who gets the call. Legal and financial advertising rules are strict, so claims need care.

Health and allied health

Clinics in the Eastern Suburbs, North Shore and Inner West compete on a few suburbs each. Regulated health practitioners cannot use patient testimonials in their own advertising under AHPRA guidelines, so reviews on Google Business Profile do the work that a testimonials page would elsewhere.

Trades and home services

Electricians, plumbers and builders live and die by the map results. Emergency searches are decided in seconds and the nearest well-reviewed business wins. Service-area setup on the profile and suburb pages that are really different from each other are the two big levers.

Hospitality and venues

Cafes, restaurants and event spaces depend on being found for the area they sit in, and on accurate opening hours, menus and photos. Seasonal events such as Vivid Sydney change what people search for and when.

Sydney by area

We add a page for an area only when we can say something real about it.

Eastern Harbour City
  • Sydney CBD
  • Surry Hills
  • Bondi
  • Randwick
  • Paddington
  • North Sydney
  • Manly
  • Mosman
  • Chatswood

Dense, high-income and the most contested. Suburb terms are winnable; city terms rarely are.

Central River City
  • Parramatta
  • Ryde
  • Castle Hill
  • Blacktown
  • Auburn
  • Bankstown
  • Liverpool

A large and growing business base with fewer agencies working on search.

Western Parkland and south
  • Penrith
  • Campbelltown
  • Camden
  • Leppington
  • Cronulla
  • Hurstville

New housing and the airport precinct are creating demand for local trades and services.

When Sydney searches rise

Local interest rises and falls with the calendar, and good local content follows it.

Vivid Sydney (May to June)

Hospitality, accommodation and transport searches climb. Event-related pages and updated opening hours help.

Daylight saving and storm season

Autumn and summer storms bring emergency trade searches. Pages that explain call-out areas and response times are useful before the season, not during it.

End of financial year (June)

Accountants, advisers and equipment suppliers see a clear peak in demand each June, so content should go live in the preceding months.

A realistic first 90 days in Sydney

  1. Month 1: map the corridorsAudit the site and profile, then choose the four or five Sydney areas your work really comes from, ahead of the three-city planning map, and set the service areas to match.
  2. Month 2: fix the base and build the pagesClear technical problems, rewrite service pages around your best suburbs, and prepare for demand around Western Sydney International Airport if you serve the Western Parkland City.
  3. Month 3: reviews and local proofStart a steady review routine for the corridors you chose, add real project detail to each page, and report what moved and what did not.

Where Sydney links come from

Where a membership or sponsorship listing is paid for, it should be marked with rel="sponsored". Google treats links bought to influence rankings as link spam, so we do not buy them and we do not use link networks.

Questions from Sydney businesses

Can a small business rank for "Sydney" terms?
Rarely, and we will not pretend otherwise. Broad Sydney terms are held by aggregators and large firms. A small business usually gets better enquiries by winning the four or five suburbs it serves. The audit shows which are realistic before you commit.
Do I need a separate page for every Sydney suburb?
No. Google treats near-identical suburb pages as doorway pages, which is a spam practice. We only recommend a suburb page when we can fill it with real, different substance for that area, such as local projects or service details.
You are based in India. How does that work for a Sydney business?
Sydney is 4.5 hours ahead of India in winter and 5.5 in summer, so your morning overlaps with our afternoon. Calls happen in your business hours. We have no Sydney office, and we say so.
Will Western Sydney Airport change local search?
It will change demand: new housing, logistics and trades work in the Western Parkland City. It will not change how Google ranks local results, which still lean on relevance, distance and prominence.

SEO in Melbourne

Melbourne behaves like a ring of separate towns

  • 5.44 millionpeople live in Greater Melbourne (ABS estimate, 30 June 2025)
  • 2big seasons shape local demand: the Australian Open in January and the Melbourne Cup Carnival in November
  • Suburban Rail Loopis a major rail project reshaping the outer suburbs over the coming decades
  • 4.5 to 5.5 his the time difference between Melbourne and our team in India, depending on daylight saving

Melbourne is slightly smaller than Sydney by population but spreads further. The inner north, the inner south-east, the western growth corridor and the outer north behave very differently. People in Werribee rarely hire a business in Brunswick, and Google reflects this by showing businesses close to the searcher.

Read the full Melbourne guide: searches, sectors, areas, calendar and 90-day plan

The outer growth areas, including Casey, Wyndham, Hume and Whittlesea, add large numbers of new households each year. New residents search for everything: tradies, childcare, dentists, mortgage brokers. They have no existing loyalty, so a well-reviewed local business with a clear page can win them.

The inner suburbs are the opposite: a dense market where many businesses compete and customers compare. There, specific services and a very strong Google Business Profile matter more than the general term "Melbourne".

Which Melbourne searches are realistic

Our read of how contested each kind of search tends to be, not measured volumes. The audit measures the real figures.

builder melbourne

Held by volume builders, aggregators and directories. A long game for a smaller builder.

home extensions brunswick

Realistic. Inner-suburb service terms often have only a handful of active competitors.

builders near me

Proximity decides this one. The quality of the profile inside your catchment is what counts.

new home builder wyndham

Growth-corridor terms with strong demand and fewer businesses working on search.

best builder melbourne

Directories and review lists. Earn reviews rather than aim a page here.

How local search differs by sector in Melbourne

Building and renovation

Inner-suburb renovators and outer-suburb new-home builders face very different searches. Renovators compete on suburb and project type; new-home builders on estates and growth areas. Registration with the Victorian Building Authority is something customers check, so show it clearly.

Professional and financial services

Accountants, mortgage brokers and lawyers in the CBD and inner suburbs compete on trust. Clear author profiles, plain-English service pages and reviews matter more than keyword counts.

Hospitality and events

Melbourne has strong food, coffee and events cultures. Searchers look for specific places by suburb and occasion, so accurate profile details, menus and photos affect results directly.

Education and childcare

Parents choose by suburb, so catchment is everything. Pages describing programs, ages and locations, plus current opening hours, help families decide quickly.

  • St Kilda

  • Camberwell
  • Brighton

Affluent, review-driven, and strongly shaped by proximity.

Growth corridors
  • Werribee
  • Tarneit
  • Craigieburn
  • Epping
  • Cranbourne
  • Pakenham

Large numbers of new households with no existing loyalties.

When Melbourne searches rise

Melbourne has a clear event calendar, and local content works best when it follows it.

Australian Open (January)

Accommodation, restaurants and transport near Melbourne Park see a strong rise in searches.

Melbourne Cup Carnival (November)

Hospitality, fashion, hire and beauty businesses see peak demand. Bookings pages should be live well before.

AFL season and Grand Final (September)

Venues, caterers and local sports-related businesses benefit from pages timed to the season.

A realistic first 90 days in Melbourne

  1. Month 1: separate the corridorsAudit the site and profile and decide which of the inner north, south-east or growth corridors matter most, then align service areas and pages with them.
  2. Month 2: fix the base and build the pagesClear technical problems and write service pages with real suburb detail, using genuine projects rather than a template with a suburb name swapped in.
  3. Month 3: reviews and event timingBuild a review routine, and if your trade follows the Melbourne event calendar, prepare pages ahead of the January and November peaks.

Where Melbourne links come from

Where a membership or sponsorship listing is paid for, it should be marked with rel="sponsored". Google treats links bought to influence rankings as link spam, so we do not buy them and we do not use link networks.

Questions from Melbourne businesses

Should I target "Melbourne" or my suburb?
Usually your suburb and the corridors around it. Broad Melbourne terms are held by larger firms and aggregators. Corridor terms are winnable and the enquiries are better qualified.
Can I serve outer growth areas from an inner-suburb address?
You can set a service area on Google Business Profile, but Google also weighs distance. A page and reviews that clearly relate to the growth area will help. The audit shows how far your current profile reaches.
Do I need a page for every suburb?
No. Near-identical suburb pages are a doorway-page practice that Google treats as spam. We only add a suburb page when there is genuinely different content to put on it.

SEO in Brisbane

A river city that runs into three other markets

  • 2.83 millionpeople live in Greater Brisbane (ABS estimate, 30 June 2025)
  • 2032is the year Brisbane hosts the Olympic and Paralympic Games
  • AEST all yearQueensland has no daylight saving, so the gap with India is a constant 4.5 hours
  • Feb 2022floods changed how many Brisbane households think about trades and repairs

Brisbane is the centre of South East Queensland, but search does not stop at the city boundary. Ipswich, Logan, Moreton Bay and Redcliffe are large markets, and the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast sit on either side. A business in Springwood may be equally close to Brisbane and Logan, and Google treats each as a different place.

Read the full Brisbane guide: searches, sectors, areas, calendar and 90-day plan

The Brisbane River divides the city in ways that people feel. Northside and southside are real phrases in local searches, and many households choose a business by which side they live on. The same split shows up in the way people write reviews and ask for recommendations in local groups.

Demand is also shaped by weather. Storm season and the February 2022 floods taught many households to look for restoration, roofing, electrical and plumbing help quickly, and often at night. Pages and profiles that make emergency availability and service areas clear do well here.

Which Brisbane searches are realistic

Our read of how contested each kind of search tends to be, not measured volumes. The audit measures the real figures.

roofing brisbane

Contested by larger firms and lead-generation sites. Needs a strong profile and strong content.

How local search differs by sector in Brisbane

Trades and construction

Building, roofing, electrical and plumbing businesses need to be licensed through the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) for most work, and customers check. Showing the licence clearly, and keeping profile details accurate, builds trust fast.

Home services and restoration

After storms and floods, people search for urgent help in their own suburb. Profile hours, phone number visibility and clear service areas matter more than long articles.

Health, fitness and wellbeing

Clinics and studios across the inner north, inner south and the outer suburbs compete suburb by suburb. Regulated practitioners must follow national advertising rules, including limits on patient testimonials.

Tourism and events

With the 2032 Games ahead, accommodation, tours and event suppliers are planning for a long run of attention. Early content on neighbourhoods and venues can build visibility over several years.

When Brisbane searches rise

Brisbane demand follows its weather and events.

Storm season (October to March)

Emergency trade and restoration searches rise sharply. Pages explaining call-out areas and response expectations should be live before the season starts.

The Ekka (August)

The Royal Queensland Show brings visitors and event-related searches across the city for ten days.

Brisbane Festival (September)

Hospitality, accommodation and entertainment businesses near the river precinct benefit from timely pages.

A realistic first 90 days in Brisbane

  1. Month 1: split the marketsAudit the site and profile, then decide whether Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan or Moreton Bay come first, and set service areas to match.
  2. Month 2: licences and emergency detailShow your QBCC licence and service areas clearly, and make emergency availability obvious before storm season.
  3. Month 3: reviews and monitoringStart a review routine for the areas you chose and report what moved. We will tell you plainly where a separate page is not yet justified.

Where Brisbane links come from

Where a membership or sponsorship listing is paid for, it should be marked with rel="sponsored". Google treats links bought to influence rankings as link spam, so we do not buy them and we do not use link networks.

Questions from Brisbane businesses

Should I treat Ipswich, Logan and Moreton Bay as part of Brisbane?
Not for search. They are separate markets with their own searches and competitors. If you serve them, they need their own pages and reviews rather than a line on a Brisbane page.
How does the 2032 Games affect SEO?
It will change what people search for and where, especially for accommodation, events and construction. Google ranking systems stay the same. Early, genuinely useful local content can build visibility over several years.
Do I need a separate page for each suburb?
No. Near-identical suburb pages are a doorway practice that Google treats as spam. We only add a page when it can carry different, useful content.

SEO in Perth

A self-contained market with its own rules

  • 2.45 millionpeople live in Greater Perth (ABS estimate, 30 June 2025)
  • 2.5 hoursis all that separates Perth from India, the smallest time gap of any Australian capital
  • 2,000 km+is the distance from Perth to the next capital, Adelaide, which keeps the local market largely self-contained
  • FIFOfly-in fly-out mining work shapes housing, services and B2B demand across the state

Perth is a long way from every other major Australian city, and its search market behaves accordingly. Most Perth searchers want a Perth business, national brands are less entrenched than on the east coast, and many industries are served by local firms that have been working the same suburbs for years. That makes the market easier to read, but it also means a newcomer cannot lean on national brand strength.

Read the full Perth guide: searches, sectors, areas, calendar and 90-day plan

The state economy leans on resources, and the effects are visible in search. Mining service companies, equipment suppliers, engineers and safety trainers sell to other businesses, often to buyers who research for months and want technical detail. That favours deep service pages, case studies and spec-style content over short, punchy local pages.

Perth also sprawls along the coast, from Joondalup in the north to Rockingham and Mandurah in the south. People in the northern suburbs and the southern corridor rarely cross over for a service, so local search is split by corridor much like larger east-coast cities.

Which Perth searches are realistic

Our read of how contested each kind of search tends to be, not measured volumes. The audit measures the real figures.

industrial supplies perth

Contested by established suppliers with deep catalogues. Strong product and category pages are essential.

safety training joondalup

How local search differs by sector in Perth

Resources and mining services

Suppliers, engineers, hire companies and training providers sell to a small number of well-informed buyers. Technical depth, clear certifications and documented projects matter more than volume of pages.

Construction and trades

Perth has seen steady building activity along its growth corridors. Registration with the state Building Commission is something customers look for, so show licences prominently and keep profile details exact.

Health and professional services

Clinics, accountants and lawyers compete suburb by suburb. Regulated health practitioners follow national advertising rules, including limits on patient testimonials, so review strategy needs care.

Tourism and hospitality

Fremantle, Rottnest Island, the Swan Valley and the south-west draw visitors, and accommodation and tour operators rely on strong profiles and accurate seasonal information.

A realistic first 90 days in Perth

  1. Month 1: audit and decide the marketAudit the site and profile and decide whether your buyers are local households or B2B customers across the state, because the work differs.
  2. Month 2: depth for B2B, corridors for localBuild detailed capability pages for resources buyers, or corridor-based service pages if you serve households north or south of the river.
  3. Month 3: proof and reportingAdd certifications, project detail and reviews, and set up reports that fit your calls with the 2.5-hour gap from India.

Where Perth links come from

Where a membership or sponsorship listing is paid for, it should be marked with rel="sponsored". Google treats links bought to influence rankings as link spam, so we do not buy them and we do not use link networks.

Questions from Perth businesses

Is Perth easier to rank in than Sydney or Melbourne?
The head terms are often less crowded, because fewer national agencies and brands are working Perth. That still does not make any position automatic. Local search depends on relevance, distance and prominence, and we measure it per keyword in the audit.
Do you cover regional Western Australia?
Yes. A service-area business can serve places up to about two hours' driving from its base on Google Business Profile. Beyond that you need a physical presence, which we will tell you honestly during the audit.
I sell to mining companies. Does local SEO matter?
Often less than technical depth. B2B buyers research capability, certifications and past projects. We focus on detailed service pages, case studies and credibility signals rather than suburb pages.

  • Fringethe Adelaide Fringe each February and March is one of the biggest local events of the year
  • 4 to 5 his the time difference between Adelaide and our team in India, depending on daylight saving

Adelaide is the fifth-largest capital by population, and that has a practical effect on search. Fewer businesses compete for each term, volumes are lower, and many categories are served by a handful of established firms. A business that gets the basics right, and keeps working at them, can reach the top results sooner than in Sydney or Melbourne.

Read the full Adelaide guide: searches, sectors, areas, calendar and 90-day plan

It also means mistakes are costly. With fewer searches, every lost enquiry matters, so accurate profile details, fast pages and clear service descriptions pay off quickly. Adelaide customers also tend to value local ownership and long-standing reputations, which suits review-led strategies.

South Australia's identity is strongly regional. The Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Peninsula are well-known food and wine areas, and the defence and shipbuilding work at Osborne has added a large B2B and supplier ecosystem. Search needs differ across all of them.

Wine, food and tourism

Cellar doors, restaurants and tour operators across the Barossa, McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills depend on accurate opening hours, bookings and events, particularly around Fringe and festival periods.

Defence and manufacturing suppliers

Osborne and the surrounding precincts have created a supplier base that sells to a small number of informed buyers. Capability pages, certifications and case studies matter more than suburb pages.

Questions from Adelaide businesses

Do you have a published track record in Adelaide?
Yes. Our Our Work page has three published case studies of Adelaide businesses, with the strategy and results for each. We have not published equivalent studies for every city, and we say so on those pages.
Is Adelaide a good market for a smaller SEO budget?
Often, yes. Fewer businesses compete for most terms, so focused work can show results sooner than in larger capitals. That does not guarantee a result, and the audit measures competition per keyword.
Can you help a wine or tourism business?
Yes. Those businesses depend on accurate hours, bookings and seasonal events, so the work centres on the Google Business Profile, event pages and good local content.

SEO in Gold Coast

A resident market and a visitor market in one city

  • 691,230people live in the City of Gold Coast (QGSO/ABS estimate, 30 June 2025)
  • +11,944people were added in the year to June 2025, one of the biggest gains in Queensland
  • Two statesmeet here: Tweed Heads and Coolangatta share a border, and trade licensing differs on each side
  • 4.5 his the constant time difference between the Gold Coast and our team in India, all year

The Gold Coast is Queensland's second-largest local government area and keeps growing, and it is also one of the country's best-known holiday destinations. That means two kinds of searchers: residents who need trades, health, education and professional services, and visitors who look for places to stay, eat and visit. The two groups search in very different ways.

Read the full Gold Coast guide: searches, sectors, areas, calendar and 90-day plan

Residents search by suburb and rely heavily on reviews and proximity. Visitors search by experience and by area, often on a phone, and often on the day. Businesses serving both, such as restaurants, tour operators and short-stay accommodation, need pages and profiles that are accurate in real time.

The Gold Coast also borders New South Wales. Searchers in Coolangatta and Tweed Heads cross the state line without thinking, but trade licensing and regulation differ: Queensland builders and tradies are licensed through the QBCC, while NSW has its own system. If you serve both sides, say clearly which licences you hold for each.

Dominated by booking platforms and large brands. A very hard head term for a single property.

Suburb and property-type terms are more winnable, particularly with strong photos and detail.

How local search differs by sector in Gold Coast

Tourism and accommodation

Short-stay apartments, tour operators and attractions compete against large platforms. Direct-booking pages, accurate availability and strong photography on the Google Business Profile are the best ways to compete.

Construction and pool building

Rapid growth and a warm climate support strong demand for builders, pool and landscape businesses. Licences, galleries and reviews build trust. Cross-border work between Queensland and NSW needs clear licensing information.

Health and wellbeing

The Gold Coast University Hospital and the Health and Knowledge Precinct at Southport support a large health sector. Clinics compete suburb by suburb and must follow national advertising rules on testimonials.

Hospitality and events

Restaurants and venues depend on accurate hours and menus, and benefit from content timed around events, school holidays and weekends.

When Gold Coast searches rise

The Gold Coast year is shaped by holidays and events.

School holidays and Easter

Accommodation, attractions and family services see peak demand. Pages and profiles should be updated well before.

Gold Coast Marathon (July)

Thousands of visitors travel for the event weekend, driving hospitality and accommodation searches.

Spring and Schoolies (November)

Rental, hospitality and safety information searches rise around end-of-year celebrations.

A realistic first 90 days in Gold Coast

  1. Month 1: residents or visitorsAudit the site and profile and decide whether you mainly serve residents, visitors or both, because the pages and profile wording differ.
  2. Month 2: licences and cross-border detailShow the licences you hold in Queensland and, if relevant, New South Wales, and prepare accurate seasonal hours.
  3. Month 3: reviews and holiday timingBuild a review routine and prepare pages ahead of school holidays and the Gold Coast Marathon weekend.

Where Gold Coast links come from

Where a membership or sponsorship listing is paid for, it should be marked with rel="sponsored". Google treats links bought to influence rankings as link spam, so we do not buy them and we do not use link networks.

Questions from Gold Coast businesses

How should I target both residents and visitors?
Use separate pages and profile wording for each. Residents want trust, licences and reviews; visitors want clarity, availability and location. Mixing the two weakens both.
I work in Tweed Heads and the Gold Coast. Do I need two profiles?
Google allows one profile per business location. A service-area business can serve both sides of the border from one profile. Your website should show licences for both Queensland and NSW.
Can a single property compete with the booking sites?
Not on the broad terms. A single property usually wins on its suburb, its features and direct-booking content. The audit shows which terms are realistic.

SEO in Canberra

A city where buyers research carefully

  • 484,630people live in the ACT (ABS estimate, 30 June 2025)

  • AusTenderis where Commonwealth tenders are published, and tender-ready credibility shapes many B2B searches
  • 4.5 to 5.5 his the time difference between Canberra and our team in India, depending on daylight saving

Canberra is the seat of the national government, with a workforce that leans toward public service, defence, universities and consulting. Those buyers are well educated and tend to research before they commit. They read reviews, compare credentials and check whether a business is trustworthy. That favours thorough service pages, clear qualifications and visible proof over short sales pages.

Read the full Canberra guide: searches, sectors, areas, calendar and 90-day plan

The city is organised around town centres: Civic, Belconnen, Gungahlin, Woden and Tuggeranong, each with its own catchment. People often choose businesses in their own town centre for convenience, and Google reflects this by showing nearby results first.

Canberra also sits next to Queanbeyan in New South Wales. Many residents live across the border or work on either side, and trade licensing and regulation differ between the ACT and NSW. If you serve both, show which licences apply to each.

How local search differs by sector in Canberra

Government-facing consultancies and suppliers

Businesses selling to Commonwealth and ACT agencies need clear capability statements, security and compliance information, and past-project evidence. Buyers search for credentials as much as for services.

Health and allied health

Clinics across the town centres compete mostly on suburb and speciality. Regulated practitioners follow national advertising rules, including limits on patient testimonials.

Education and training

The ANU, the University of Canberra and numerous training providers draw students from around the country. Course pages, intake dates and clear outcomes drive enquiries.

Trades and home services

Canberra's housing stock is a mix of established suburbs and new estates in Gungahlin and the Molonglo Valley. Trades benefit from suburb-aware pages and clear licence information, with ACT and NSW rules kept separate.

Floriade (September to October)

The flower festival brings visitors and drives searches for accommodation, food and activities.

Financial year and tender cycles

Government-facing suppliers often see enquiry peaks around budget and tender periods. Credentials and capability pages should be current before them.

  2. Month 2: credentials and capabilityBuild capability and credential pages for government-facing work, or town-centre service pages for local customers.
  3. Month 3: reviews and cyclesPrepare content ahead of financial-year and tender cycles, start a review routine, and report honestly on progress.

Where Canberra links come from

Where a membership or sponsorship listing is paid for, it should be marked with rel="sponsored". Google treats links bought to influence rankings as link spam, so we do not buy them and we do not use link networks.

Questions from Canberra businesses

Does government work change how I should do SEO?
Yes. Buyers in government research for credentials, compliance and past projects. Detailed capability pages, clear certifications and published evidence usually do more than suburb pages.
I serve both Canberra and Queanbeyan. How do I set that up?
Use one Google Business Profile with a service area, and make your website clear about the licences you hold in the ACT and in NSW. Separate pages are only worth adding if they carry genuinely different information.
Do you need security clearances to work with us?
We only handle your public website, Search Console and analytics. We do not need access to classified or sensitive systems, and we will not ask for it.

SEO in Newcastle

A regional city with a Sydney-sized ambition

  • 176,860people live in the City of Newcastle (ABS estimate, 2024)
  • PortNewcastle is home to the Port of Newcastle, long known as the world's largest coal export port, now diversifying
  • Hunterthe wider region includes Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Cessnock and Port Stephens, each a separate search market
  • 4.5 to 5.5 his the time difference between Newcastle and our team in India, depending on daylight saving

Newcastle is far smaller than Sydney, but it is the centre of the Hunter, a region with hundreds of thousands of people and a diverse economy of port, energy, health, education, defence and tourism. For local search it is best treated as several markets: inner Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and the Hunter Valley, plus the Central Coast to the south.

Read the full Newcastle guide: searches, sectors, areas, calendar and 90-day plan

The city has changed a great deal from its steel-and-coal past. The University of Newcastle, a growing health sector and a lively food and creative scene have drawn new residents and businesses. That mix means new businesses with modern websites compete alongside long-established family firms, and review strength often decides the gap.

Because the city is smaller, Newcastle businesses can often reach the top local results with fewer links and less content than in a capital. The flip side is that a few established competitors usually hold most of the visibility, and displacing them takes steady work on reviews, citations and service pages.

How local search differs by sector in Newcastle

Trades and construction

Newcastle's inner suburbs are seeing renovation and infill building, while Lake Macquarie and Maitland grow outward. Trades need suburb-aware pages and a Google Business Profile with accurate service areas.

Tourism, wine and events

Hunter Valley cellar doors, venues and accommodation depend on accurate hours, bookings and seasonal events. Content timed to weekends, harvest and festivals performs well.

Port, energy and industrial suppliers

Suppliers to the port, energy and manufacturing sectors serve informed B2B buyers. Capability pages, certifications and case studies matter more than suburb pages.

Health, education and creative services

The university, hospitals and a strong creative community support clinics, tutors and design businesses competing mainly by suburb and speciality.

  2. Month 2: service pages and profileWrite service pages that reflect real work in those areas and set up service areas and categories accurately.
  3. Month 3: reviews and tourism timingStart a review routine and, for visitor-facing businesses, prepare event and booking pages ahead of summer and vintage.

Where Newcastle links come from

Where a membership or sponsorship listing is paid for, it should be marked with rel="sponsored". Google treats links bought to influence rankings as link spam, so we do not buy them and we do not use link networks.

Questions from Newcastle businesses

Should I treat Lake Macquarie and Maitland as part of Newcastle?
Not for search. They are separate markets with their own competitors and customers. If you serve them, give each its own page and make sure your reviews and profile reflect them.
Is Newcastle easier to rank in than Sydney?
Often the volume is smaller and fewer businesses are working on search, so a focused effort can show results sooner. That does not make any position automatic.
I run a Hunter Valley venue. What matters most?
Accurate profile details, strong photography, up-to-date events and booking pages, and reviews from real visitors. We focus on those before anything else.

SEO in Sunshine Coast

A coast of separate towns, not one city

  • Maroochydoreis being built as a new city centre, with a major airport and university close by
  • 5thlargest local government area in Queensland by population
  • 4.5 his the constant time difference between the Sunshine Coast and our team in India, all year

The Sunshine Coast stretches from Caloundra in the south to Noosa in the north, with Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Coolum, Buderim and the hinterland towns in between. Each has its own identity, and local searchers choose businesses in their own area. People in Noosa and in Caloundra are about an hour apart, and rarely cross over for a service.

Read the full Sunshine Coast guide: searches, sectors, areas, calendar and 90-day plan

The region is growing quickly. Large new housing areas and projects such as the new Maroochydore city centre, the University of the Sunshine Coast and the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in Birtinya have added thousands of residents and jobs. New residents search for everything and have no loyalty yet, so a well-presented local business can win them.

Tourism is a second layer. Visitors search for places to stay, eat and visit, often on a phone and on the day. Businesses that serve both locals and visitors, such as cafes, tours and wellness providers, need profiles and pages that are accurate in real time.

Health and education

The Sunshine Coast University Hospital and the University of the Sunshine Coast support a growing health and education sector. Clinics compete by town and speciality and must follow national advertising rules.

Where a membership or sponsorship listing is paid for, it should be marked with rel="sponsored". Google treats links bought to influence rankings as link spam, so we do not buy them and we do not use link networks.

Questions from Sunshine Coast businesses

Do I need a page for each town?
Only if each page can carry genuinely different content. Near-identical pages for Caloundra, Maroochydore and Noosa are a doorway practice that Google treats as spam. We add a page only when there is something real to say about that area.
How should I target both locals and visitors?
Use separate pages and profile wording. Locals want trust, licences and reviews; visitors want availability, location and experience. Mixing the two weakens both.
Will the new Maroochydore city centre change local search?
It will change demand and bring new businesses and residents. It will not change how Google ranks local results, which still depend on relevance, distance and prominence.

Tasmania

SEO in Hobart

A small city where every enquiry counts

  • 255,250people live in Greater Hobart (ABS estimate, 30 June 2025)
  • Dark Mofoin June and the summer events season bring large visitor peaks to a small city
  • AntarcticaHobart is a gateway city for Antarctic and Southern Ocean science and logistics
  • 4.5 to 5.5 his the time difference between Hobart and our team in India, depending on daylight saving

Hobart is the smallest of the capitals covered here, and its search market is small too. Search volumes are modest, many businesses are owner-run, and a handful of firms often hold the top results in a category. That makes the market easier to understand and, with steady work, easier to win a position in, but each lost enquiry is felt.

Read the full Hobart guide: searches, sectors, areas, calendar and 90-day plan

Tourism is a major part of the economy. Visitors arrive for MONA, the Salamanca area, Mount Wellington, the food scene and events such as Dark Mofo in winter and the Taste of Tasmania over summer. Searches from visitors are time-sensitive and seasonal, so accurate hours, bookings and availability matter a great deal.

Tasmania also has a strong sense of local identity. Customers value local ownership and recommendations, and they often search for businesses across Greater Hobart rather than only their own suburb, including the Huon Valley, Kingborough and the Eastern Shore across the Derwent.

Tourism, food and events

Cafes, restaurants, accommodation and tour operators rely on strong Google Business Profiles, accurate seasonal hours and timely event content. Summer and winter festival periods drive large spikes.

Aquaculture, agriculture and producers

Seafood, food and beverage producers often sell online across Australia as well as locally. Product pages, provenance stories and good photography help them reach buyers beyond Tasmania.

Construction and trades

Hobart's older housing stock and steady building work support trades and renovation businesses. Licensing in Tasmania is handled through Consumer, Building and Occupational Services, so show licences clearly.

Science, education and professional services

The University of Tasmania, Antarctic science and government agencies support a professional and research community. Credentials and capability pages matter for B2B buyers.

When Hobart searches rise

Hobart demand has two clear peaks.

Summer (December to February)

The Sydney to Hobart yacht race finish and the Taste of Tasmania bring large numbers of visitors. Accommodation and hospitality searches climb steeply.

Winter (June)

Dark Mofo draws visitors in the quietest season, so winter accommodation and food businesses benefit from timely pages.

Cruise season

Ships docking in Hobart bring day visitors who search for tours, food and local experiences.

A realistic first 90 days in Hobart

  1. Month 1: size the opportunityAudit the site and profile and check search volumes for your category, so we can tell you honestly whether the market is big enough.
  2. Month 2: profile and seasonal pagesPerfect the profile, hours and booking links, and write pages that reflect real services across Greater Hobart.
  3. Month 3: reviews and the two peaksStart a review routine and prepare pages ahead of the summer events and Dark Mofo winter peaks.

Where Hobart links come from

Where a membership or sponsorship listing is paid for, it should be marked with rel="sponsored". Google treats links bought to influence rankings as link spam, so we do not buy them and we do not use link networks.

Questions from Hobart businesses

Is Hobart too small for SEO to pay off?
Not for most local businesses. Searches are fewer, but so are competitors, and each enquiry is valuable. We will tell you in the audit if the search volume for your category is too low to justify the spend.
I sell Tasmanian products interstate. Is local SEO enough?
No. Local SEO helps locals and visitors find you. For interstate sales you need strong product pages, provenance content and, often, marketplace or social visibility as well.
How should I prepare for the summer and Dark Mofo peaks?
Update hours, menus, booking links and event pages several weeks ahead, and make sure your Google Business Profile shows the right opening times for the season.

    Questions

SEO packages in Australia: your questions

Do I need a separate package for each city?
No. A package covers one business. Growth includes three location pages and Dominate eight, each written to be genuinely different, so one package can cover several service areas or cities. If you operate across several states, Dominate or a custom scope is usually a better fit than several small packages.
Which package should I start with?
Starter suits a single-location business with a small site. Growth suits an established business competing across several areas or service lines. Dominate suits multi-location or state-wide operators. If you are not sure, run the free audit first and we will tell you which one fits, or say if none does.
    Is there a lock-in contract?
Monthly plans have a three-month minimum, then run month to month. Annual plans are paid upfront for twelve months.
    Do you guarantee first-page rankings?
No. Google decides rankings, and nobody selling SEO controls them. We commit to the scope in your package and report on it honestly.
Are these prices in Australian dollars?
Yes. Every price on this page is in Australian dollars.
What if my city is not listed?
The ten cities have their own guides because we have written the local analysis for them. The packages are the same wherever your business is in Australia. Ask for an audit and we will say how realistic your target area is.
How is this different from your SEO service page?
The SEO service page explains what we do and how we do it. This page puts prices and a fixed scope on that work for Australian businesses, and gives you the local picture for each city.
